Vintage hat by La Familiare. A calot style 1940s women’s hat, or a Juliet hat, tam or beret, in chestnut brown felt with feather "birds" in cream and golden hues. An Italian made rare fall head piece, complete with an amber glass bead hat pin, for fastening to your hairstyle.
At close examination, the cluster of feather plumes have actually been design to look like small birds, with pointed beaks. The material the beaks are crafted with is unknown, perhaps a plastic.
Approximate 21" interior circumference at band.
Approximate 9" diameter at brim.
(This hat is modeled on a very small model with a 6 yr old head! Will fit differently on your average adult head)
Marked:
“La Familiare” in gold on the interior with a Fleur De Lis logo of the millinery Cappellificio La Familiare which began operations in 1905.
Condition:
Excellent, vintage used condition. I can discern no wear, flaws or damage, even to the delicate feather “birds”.
