Vintage wine label for port. A silver diecast ornate ticket for wine bottle or decanter. Curved label on chain in a Rococo style, with a grapes and cherubs motif. Likely ESCO silver, but unmarked.
Approximate size:
4” long with chain extended
2 3/8” long (not including chain)
2 1/8” wide
¼” protrusion (curved)
No maker’s marks. There may have been at least one mark in the surface on the back, but it is worn and ilegible.
Likely sterling, or sterling plated, made by ESCO (Eastern Silver Company) circa mid century to 1970s, with an antique look. It is similar to many Esco Judaico pieces, with Hebrew labels, for which the company was known for.
Condition:
Excellent, tarnished, used, vintage condition. There may be light surface scratching, there is definite oxidation and discoloration. This piece has been left in this state intentionally, as to leave the decision to polish up to the buyer.
