Vintage Arzberg Bavaria small oblong serving platter. A small floral pattern of black, lavender, orange on pearly white iridescent china, with scalloped gold gilt rim.
The finish of the creamy white china is not like the typical iridescent glaze of this era, but has a opalescent luster to it. The gold rim has been brushed on with intentional stroke marks feathered out from the edges. The tiny floral pattern is larger in the center, and consists of delicate back rimmed floral and scrolls, highlighted in lavender, orange, yellow and a periwinkle blue.
Marked in gold "Arzberg Bavaria" with a crest with a "P" and "A" inside it, crown above it.
This mark dates the piece from about 1928 at the earliest, early 1940s at the latest.
Dimensions:
11 1/2" long
5 1/2" wide
1 1/2" deep
Condition:
Excellent, with minor surface scratching to the lustre finish and a few tiny pin dot discoloration specks. There is no damage in the form of chips or cracks.
