Vintage enamel pot made by ASTA of Germany. Mid century modern blue enamelware, encircled by an orange and white medallion design. 1960s stock pot with handles.
A mid size enamel cooking pot with lid and handles (or small stock pot).
Complete with the original lid, with the added feature of a side steam vent.
Approximate measurements:
8 5/8" diameter at mouth of pot
7 3/4" diameter at base
11" width from handle to handle
5" pot depth
7" tall including lid with knob
No maker's marks, but consistent with the look and handles of ASTA German enamelware of the 1960s.
This mid century modern, asian inspired pattern, is very rare.
Condition:
Very good to excellent, used vintage, with expected wear for the age of the pot, but no real damage in terms of chips or dents. There is minor yellow discoloration from cooking on the white enamel interior, and two small black flecks in the enamel at the inner top of the pot. There is very minor wear to the white medallion design and little to no wear on the blue enamel surface. The underside shows expected wear and there is one small area of a stuck on substance that I have been partially successful in removing, but will leave to the buyers discretion to proceed with move scraping, as to not cause any scratches to the underside.
