1920s fraternity photograph, framed. A group photo of University of Pennsylvanias's chapter of the Theta Delta Chi Fraternity circa 1924 or 1925. UPENN pledges, dressed in suit and tie, pose on the University campus.
The photo has at some point been professionally framed in a medium toned thick, bevelled, wood frame and is under glass.
The opening for the photograph (and presumably, the photo itself) measures approximately 16.5" x 10"
The frame measures 19" x 12.5" (depth of the frame is 1.5")
The back of the frame is wired for hanging and handwritten is:
"Theta Delta Chi Fraternity University of Pennsvania 1924 05 1925"
A label reads "W.E. Harrison, JR." and handwritten is "pledge"
A stamp labels it as framed by "Harvey's Hobby Hut" of Decorah, Iowa.
The frame is most likely not as old as the actual photograph.
The photograph appears to be in excellent vintage condition, with a slight sepia tone from age. It seems to have been protected throughout the years.
The frame is also in excellent vintage condition, with a few minor chips in the stained wood, as evident in the photos above.
