Sorry, this item has sold.

Vintage Hawaiian girl bust. A plaster, hand painted polynesian woman's head with a hibiscus flower in her hair. Chippy chalkware Hula girl ceramic made from a mold. 60s retro island style. Marked Marwal ceramic, it dates from the late 1960s. Very distressed, worn condition. Please see detailed condition description below.

Approximate size:
9” x 5 ½” x 4” deep

Marked:
Stamped into the clay on the lower side:
"Marwal
®
Ind. Inc."

Condition:
A large amount of wear throughout, but mostly on the back of the hair. The painted surface is chipped away across the back of the hair and top of head, and at many edges of the bust and the flower (see photos above). There are multiple smaller, tiny chips on her facial features. There are areas in the surface that appear as cracks, but they are only to the painted top layer and not through the piece. The very distressed and worn condition has been highly factored in the pricing of this piece.
