Antique yellow pedestal bowl, slight luster. A shallow comport, large and heavy, ceramic, likely Moorcroft circa 1910s, which is a British art pottery maker.
This piece has irregularities, that can be seen in the side view photos above. The bowl is not even, and this is more noticeable when viewed from one side.
Approximate size:
13 ½” diameter at widest
10 ¼” diameter of mouth
11/2” depth of bowl
4 ¼” total height
5 ¾” diameter at base
No maker’s marks, but the look and weight is very consistent with the yellow pieced from Moorcroft of that era.
Condition:
Very good, vintage, used condition. There is light crazing throughout, especially on the interior. There is some wear to the color, also on the interior. No chips or cracks. Any of surface flaws, like flea bites, are a part of production. Also, as mentioned above, the bowl is irregular when viewed from certain sides, a production flaw.
