Vintage mod mugs, Mikasa Cera Stone by Jonas Roberts, Brown, 3999, Japan. 1960s caramel brown colored modern tea cups with white interiors and square handles.
This set includes 8 mugs.
All 8 mugs are marked on the bottom.
Six mugs are marked "Mikasa, Cera-Stone, Brown, 2999, Japan"
The other two mugs are marked "By Jonas Roberts Cera-Stone Japan"
Other than the markings, the mugs are essentially identical. I did find these together, so although all made by Mikasa and the same pattern, they are perhaps not from the same "batch", maybe some bought as replacements at a different point time.
The mugs measure 3.25" (8.3 cm) in diameter at mouth, 2" (5 cm diameter) at base, 3" (7.6" tall). The handle is approximately 1.75" (4.5 cm) x 7/8" x (2.8 cm)
Condition:
Good to very good vintage condition, with varying degrees of wear. All but the two mugs that are marked differently have moderate wear and staining on the inner, white, bottom. Some darker than others. One of the mugs marked "Jonas Roberts" has what appears to be cracking within the glaze on the bottom inside sides. One mug has a tiny chip in the brown glaze on the outer rim near the handle, as well as, a small chip on the inner handle. There is one that has an area of the rim that is rough, and some milky white areas on the brown near the rim, that may or may not be inherent to the glaze. There is another with a dimple in the glaze near the rim. There are various areas throughout the glaze of the mugs that are dark, but this is inherent to the glazing and the process. The flaws have been taken into consideration in the pricing of this set.
