A vintage knitting and crochet pattern magazine from the 1940s, by Minerva Yarn Co. Many patterns for girls clothes, boys clothes, knit patterns, crochet patterns.
The front and back covers of the magazine, as well as, the first2 and last 2 pages are missing. But it is clear from the references to Minerva Yarn, that is was distributed by the maker, which is "Lees Carpets"
47 pages (was 50, but a few a now missing, although the missing pages only affect one pattern) containing over 30 patterns, illustrations and black and white photographs, in this magazine style guide.
Patterns include:
Little Boy's "Sun Suit" or Sailor Suit
A Young Girl's (really a teen's) Beach Suit" made od Shetland Floss.
A Doll's suit
Knitted Duck
Crocheted Girls dresses for various ages
Many other knit sets and much more.
Condition:
Fair vintage condition, but still very good in terms of instructional purposes. The remaining pages of the guide (See above) are still held together, but barely. Someone taped them together at some point. Some pages are loose. The first few and last few pages are in the worst condition. The inner pages are in fine condition. Only one pattern seems to be missing part of its instructions (the last one.) It is obvious this book was well used. Imagine was created using this amazing period patterns. Now you can bring some of them back to life.
