A vintage photograph plaque from 1930s. A sepia toned photograph of a woman in pearls, possibly Xenia McDade, shellacked onto a carved wooden plaque wall hanging.
The photograph is centrally decoupaged into the shield-shaped plague. It is a sepia toned, hand colored, portrait of a woman wearing a pearl necklace and with a traditional 1930s hair style.
The plaque has relief carving in a leaf like design all around the photo and a curved border. The carved areas are highlighted with a bronze colored paint and heavily shellacked.
The back of the plaque has two eye screws drilled into it and a wire across the back.
The back is also carved: "Made by Xania McDade 1934"
SIze: 6.25" x 5.5" and about 3/8" deep or 15.9 x 14 cm and .9 cm deep
Condition:
Extremely rustic vintage, the shellac is peeling almost completely across the photo and wood plaque (and likely will peel more with time) which adds to its unique, creepy feel.
