Sorry, this item has sold.

A vintage Victorian die cut paper ephemera advertisement for Marshall & Ball Clothiers, New Jersey, c 1800s to 1900s.

A monkey with a corn cob and pineapple. The monkey has a lively look in his as he clutches to a rope with his toes and holds a cob of corn under one arm and a pineapple in the other.

The ad is on hard card stock paper. The underside of the ad, which is mostly peeled away at (possibly because it was glued somewhere, like a scrap book) and all that remains is "58 & 60", which my assumption is was the address and most of "Jersey City"

This is an advertisement for Marshall and Ball Clothiers of Jersey City, New Jersey. Many Victorian styled, illustrated "trading cards" can be found that were essentially advertisements for the company, but this seems too large to have been part of a one of this cards, and was perhaps always in the shape of the monkey, and not cut put at a later date.

Measures approximately 7.5" x 3.25" at the widest points or 19.1 cm x 8.3 cm

Condition:
Good to fair vintage considering the age and the fact that this is paper, portions of this paper piece are missing, something was extended from the pineapple and part of the monkeys leg is missing. There are a few blemishes on the front, such as on the monkeys face, where the paper is peeled away. The underside is described above.
