Abalone earrings, screw back and dating from the mid century. Thin abalone shell disc earrings with beautiful opalescent, light catching natural striations
There are no maker's marks.
These screw back earrings are lightweight. Please note, area to slip your earlobe into opens only to 1/4" or .9 cm wide. (They won't fit on my lobes, but I guess I have fat ones!) The meta can be slightly bent to adjust, but not very much.
The round shells discs measure .75" diameter x .75" deep (including post when extended) or 1.8 cm diameter x 1.8 cm deep (approximately). The are adhered to the metal screw back posts with some sort of glue.
Condition:
Very good vintage condition with some wear on the underside of one the abalone discs that can't be seen from the front.
