Vintage linen Maine postcards c. 1940s, unused. Illustrated post cards of The Maine Turnpike, Interstate 95, underpasses in Wells & Kennebunkport ME.
This similar cards are each of a scene from the Maine State Turnpike, otherwise known as I-95.
One card is of "Old Alfred Road Underpass at No. Kennebunkport, Maine on the Maine Turnpike" as printed on the upper white border of the front of the card. The number printed on the front is "80051".
The second card is of the "Coles Hill Road Underpass at Wells, Maine". The number printed on the front is "80046".
Both are "Tichnor Quality Views Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. Made Only By Tichnor Bros.. Inc. Boston, Mass."
Both are printed with an informative blurb about the turnpike, as seen in photo #4 and #5 above.
Each card is 5.5" x 3.5" or 14 cm x 8.9 cm
Condition: Unused and extremely close to mint. There is a faint stain on the upper front corner of the Wells card, there is also some discoloration on the back edges, extremely faint.
